DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
Marion County Fire Rescue is reappropriating funds from the Repairs/Maintenance Buildings & Grounds account to the Buildings-Construction and/or Improvement account to install new bay floors at Stations 32 (Liberty) and 12 (Meadowood). These upgrades are part of an ongoing effort to transition all stations to more durable flooring that better withstands apparatus traffic and creates consistent standards across the county. There were savings identified within the Repairs/Maintenance account by fewer stations needing pressure washing and painting this fiscal year, providing the funding needed for these installations. This request is non-recurring.
New stations include bay flooring as part of their capital improvement plans, while existing stations are being upgraded gradually to maintain uniformity and enhance station pride. Bay floors are already in place at EMS Central and Stations 2, 13, 19, 20, 21, 22, and 28, and Station 11 will include this flooring as part of its ongoing CIP project.
