DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:

On behalf of the Office of the County Engineer (OCE), a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) was advertised for firms to provide repair and maintenance services for roads, right-of-ways, and stormwater facilities. On August 1, 2017, the Board contracted with five (5) firms to be Pre-Qualified contractors for various projects under this Agreement. A Task Order request was issued in March for repair in a drainage retention area (DRA). The work includes a sinkhole repair in a DRA consisting of standard clearing and grubbing, excavation, placing and compacting fill, erosion repair clearing and grubbing, and sodding. Tracy Straub, County Engineer, is recommending approval of the Task Order to Hartman Civil Construction, Co., Inc., the lowest Pre-Qualified Bidder, as shown in the tabulation below:

BUDGET/IMPACT:

Neutral; expenditure of $57,546. Up to ten percent (10%) contingency can be added to the Purchase Order per the Procurement Manual.

Recommended action

Motion to approve recommendation and allow staff to issue the Task Order Amendment and upon approval by Legal, authorize the Chairman to execute same with Hartman Civil Construction, Co., Inc., under 17Q-087-TO-41.
