DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) is requesting $95,000 from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund (LETF) for donations to the following:
- Florida Sheriff’s Youth Association: $50,000
- Florida Sheriff’s Youth Ranches: $25,000
- Boys & Girls Club: $5,000
- Marion County Children’s Alliance: $5,000
- Kimberly’s Center: $5,000
- Project Hope: $5,000
In addition, the MCSO would like to use $80,000 from the LETF to purchase the Blockchain Forensics platform and advanced investigative workstations for the Cyber Crimes Unit, to make them more efficient.
The Sheriff has certified that this request meets the requirements of Chapter 932 of the Florida Statutes and that there are no recurring expenses for subsequent fiscal years.
