DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
The Information Technology Department determined the needs for Fire EMS Ocala Central (FRC000007) that will need to be purchased for the Capital Improvement Project in order for the building to be ready for their projected opening date. As such, we obtained a quote for the estimated amounts of equipment needed in order to ensure the technological equipment is available for the station to be fully functioning. The Finance Department has advised of the correct accounts for which the expenses should be coded based on the quotes that were reviewed.
There are funds available to recognize revenues from the Community Paramedic program, which helps to reduce the high system utilizers (patients who call 9-1-1 for ambulance transports that may not have medical emergencies) which can used for this capital project. This program helps to still provide medical services to the residents, while aiming to reduce the workload capacity for emergency medical transports. Since Fire EMS Ocala Central includes all of the high performance personnel and rescues, this funding can be used to help the purchases for the station.
Additionally, we are requesting to re-appropriate these funds to Fiscal Year 2024-25 as we do not anticipate completing the project by September 30, 2024.
BUDGET/IMPACT:
Increase General Fund appropriation by $55,523.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
