On July 21, 2020, the Board approved the bid award for 20B-140 Emergency Back-up Generators to On-Site Power Inc. The project consisted of the installation of three (3) fixed generators that will power the three (3) buildings housing the Office of the County Engineer (OCE) department.
The OCE department is responsible for maintaining the safety of the county roads and roads clean-up after hurricane events. The generators will supply power to the buildings during times of outages, especially before, during, or after hurricane events to ensure operations continue without interruption.
The Board approved the project for $198,390. The project is closing with a cost savings of $1.00. The cost savings will be transferred from FMC000024 to the fund balance.
This project was also part of a larger Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Hazardous Mitigation Grant with FEMA reimbursing the County 75% of the total work that included generator installations.
