DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:

On behalf of the Office of the County Engineer (OCE), a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) was advertised for firms to provide repair and maintenance services for roads, right-of-ways, and stormwater facilities. On August 1, 2017, the Board contracted with five (5) firms to be Pre-Qualified contractors for various projects under this Agreement. A Task Order request was issued in March for sidewalk ADA ramp repairs. The work includes the removal, disposal of, and replacement of eleven (11) noncompliant existing curb ramps, installation of new truncated dome detectable warning mats, removal, disposal of and replacement of any associated curbing required, up to an additional ten (10) linear feet of sidewalk at each ramp and sod. Additionally, there will be the removal and replacement of up to 22 detectable warning mats at locations within the project limits. Tracy Straub, County Engineer, is recommending approval of the Task Order to Hartman Civil Construction, Co., Inc., the lowest Pre-Qualified Bidder, as shown in the tabulation below:

Attached for review is the Task Order Amendment draft; pending approval at today’s meeting, it will be sent to the Contractor for signatures and upon return, will be routed for same by the County Attorney, Clerk, and Chairman.

 

BUDGET/IMPACT:

Neutral; expenditure of $67,300. Up to ten percent (10%) contingency can be added to the Purchase Order per the Procurement Manual.

Motion to approve recommendation and allow staff to issue the Task Order Amendment and upon approval by Legal, authorize the Chairman to execute same with Hartman Civil Construction, Co., Inc. under 17Q-087-TO-42.
