DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
This is a request to approve an Electric Utility Easement between Marion County and Duke Energy for three (3) different locations within the Marion Oaks Subdivision. During the design phase to upgrade the Ross Prairie-Marion Oaks Transmission Line, Duke Energy discovered that they did not have easements for some of their existing facilities. Easements are needed on: Tax Parcel 8009-1176+16 for a guy anchor located within a drainage right-of-way; Tax Parcel 8001-0153+01 for a pole located within a drainage retention area where a curve is in the road; and Tax Parcel 8001-0172+01 located within a drainage retention area adjacent to CR 484. The proposed easements will memorialize the existing facilities and allow for continued routine maintenance; upgrades and enhanced maintenance will continue to be permitted and reviewed through the right-of-way permitting process while acknowledging placement of the facilities in their easement locations.
