DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
During the April 20, 2021 Board meeting, the County Administrator presented information regarding agreements with Constitutional Officers that may need to be reviewed or formalized. One of those agreements is regarding the transfer of job function and equipment of the “Emergency Management Director” to the Marion County Sheriff Office (MCS)) dated June 21, 1988. The Board gave direction for Commissioner Stone and the County Administrator to meet with the Sheriff and schedule a workshop to discuss if this function should remain under MCSO or come back to the Board of County Commissioners and provide the benefits for both.
