DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
To reappropriate funds as approved on the April 20, 2021 Agenda Item 9.1 to reimburse expenditures in the Insurance Fund for the direct costs of the employee COVID-19 health claims in the amount of $2.4 million.
County Administration has consulted with Gregory C. Harrell, Clerk of Court and Comptroller, for an opinion on the eligibility of the transfer of funds for COVID-19 claims and the reserves. Upon review, Mr. Harrell has determined that the reimbursement of expenditures to the Insurance Fund for the direct costs of the employee COVID-19 health claims is an eligible transfer and fiscally prudent for the long-term sustainability of the self-insured health program to the benefit of all partners.
BUDGET/IMPACT:
Increase Insurance Fund appropriation by $2,400,000.
