DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
The 2021 Run for the Springs 5K was held virtually for the first time this year. There was a combination of 65 runners and eight (8) teams that participated resulting in a contribution of over $7,000 to the Run for the Springs grant program.
Jones-Edmunds Engineering and Consulting Services is the top overall team, with a team time average of 21 minutes and 25 seconds. In addition, they fielded the two (2) fastest overall runners, Blake Lowery with a time of 16 minutes 6 seconds and Ken Vogel with a time of 19 minutes and 42 seconds.
The Run for the Springs grant program assists Marion County homeowners with inspections, pump outs, and permit fees for repairs of their onsite sewage treatment and disposal systems (fka septic tanks). The Marion County Stormwater Program would like to thank all of the sponsors and all of the runners who contributed to the success of this year’s event.
