Office of the County Engineer

DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:

This is a request to declare parcel number 31818-001-00 as surplus; and approve a Sale and Purchase Agreement between Marion County and Felburn Foundation, Inc., a Statute 125 Deed between Marion County and the Board of Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Fund of the State of Florida (TIITF), and a Resolution.

This request is associated with an Application for Conveyance or Lease of County Owned Property submitted by Felburn Foundation, Inc. The application is pursuant to provisions in Chapter 125.38 FS which provides that the Board of County Commissioners may convey a specific property to the United States, any department or agency thereof, or to a not for profit corporation organized for the purposes of promoting community interest and welfare.

Felburn Foundation, Inc. is a not for profit corporation. The attached documents show that the Felburn Foundation is promoting public or community interest and welfare with their purchase to be a donation to benefit Silver Springs State Park. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), as the managing entity for many TIITF lands and the Silver Springs State Park, has agreed to accept the donation.

The purchase price of $30,931 is the Marion County Property Appraiser’s 2020 Assessed Value. This property is not needed for County purposes and Staff recommends approval of the sale.

Sale of Surplus Land - AA00364 - 364022 - $30,931
