DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
Section 163.3177(3), Florida Statutes, requires the County to annually review the Capital Improvements Element (CIE) of the Comprehensive Plan and requires a minimum of a five (5) year schedule of capital improvements.
Policy 1.2.3 of the Capital Improvements Element of the Marion County Comprehensive Plan adopted May 8, 2014, requires the Comprehensive Plan Capital Improvements Schedule of Capital Improvements (CIE Schedule) to be updated annually to remove completed projects and add new projects.
Growth Services staff has reviewed and prepared amended policies within the Capital Improvements Element to remove outdated language for compliance with current Florida Statutes. In addition, the CIE Schedule has been updated to address the annual review requirement.

Recommended action
Motion to adopt the revised Capital Improvements Element, including the Comprehensive Plan Capital Improvements Element Schedule of Capital Improvements for Fiscal Year 2020-2021 through FY 2024-2025, to the Department of Economic Opportunity and other reviewing agencies.
