DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
On behalf of Marion County Utilities (MCU), Procurement Services advertised a bid to construct approximately 8,500 LF of 16” forcemain along SE Maricamp Road from Bahia Ave. to Clear Rd to bypass the old offsite EQ tank and transmit Silver Springs Regional wastewater flows directly to the Silver Springs Shores Wastewater Treatment Facility. Seven (7) Contractors responded with Hartman Civil Construction Co., Inc. (Hartman), submitting the lowest bid. Environmental Services Director, Jody Kirkman, supports Staff’s recommendation to award to Hartman based on the tabulation below:

Attached for review is a contract draft. Pending approval at today’s meeting, it will be sent to the Contractor, and upon return, will be forwarded for the County Attorney’s, Clerk’s, and Chairman’s signatures.
BUDGET/IMPACT:
Neutral; total expenditure not to exceed $1,187,380. Up to ten percent (10%) contingency is allowed in accordance with the Procurement manual.

Motion to approve recommendation and allow staff to issue contract, and upon approval by Legal, authorize the Chairman to execute contract with Hartman Civil Construction Co., Inc. under 21B-130.
