DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
Marion County Utilities (MCU) is currently attempting to hire an Engineering Manager and two (2) FTE Engineers. These positions have been vacant for between six months and 18 months, and there have not been qualified applicants to date to fill these openings. There is much design work which needs to be done in order to complete Water and Sewer line construction. In order to complete this work, design work is needed to be outsourced to contracted vendors. This request is to move funds from salaries to professional services. Should MCU be unable to hire qualified candidates, similar budget amendments may be necessary.
