DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
The Utilities Line Crew is required to replace sod when restoring construction site after completing installation of new water lines. This action requires the sod to be watered for a specific amount of time to establish the root system. However, Marion County Utilities (MCU) does not own a water truck, and at this time it is not cost effective to purchase one. Marion County has a contract with a rental company which will allow MCU the ability to rent a truck as necessary over the fiscal period.
MCU was also going to refurbish the water tank at the Windgate facility, but after inspection, it has been determined that the current unit needs to be taken out of service in order to complete the work. During that time, a rental tank will need to be installed and then removed upon completion of the refurbishment project.
This request is to allocate funds to the Line Crew Organization and to the Water Operations Organization to cover these rental expenses. This is a one-time request.
